When imaging in the Sagittarius constellation, most would point their scopes to the Lagoon and Trifid nebula. East of the more often imaged Lagoon nebula, lie emission and reflection nebulae, such as IC 1274 and IC 1275, amongst other molecular clouds. IC 1274, seen here is a Hydrogen ionized region and since it is situated close to the celestial equator, it is visible from both hemispheres at certain times of the year. A long focal length of 4000mm brings out rich details in this target and 10 minute long exposures brings out the tendrils of oxygen gases…
