Arches form a compelling foreground against which to frame the night skies. There are not many rock arches in Namibia, as one is wont to find In Utah. Spitzkoppe rock arch is of course very popular with the tourists, whilst the Bogenfels Arch in the Sperrgebeit is off limits to most, especially at night. So I set out on a quest to see if I could find some more and came across three more, one of which was in Tinkas and the second in Jakaalswater. There is however another very small arch on the private farm of Wustenquell, about 100 kms east of Swakopmund. The elephant like shape of the arch is quite photogenic and faces due south east, directly in the path of the rising milky way against which I framed it.
